To obtain a license key, you must provide a Service Tag number and System ID Code. From one to ten license keys can be obtained in a single request. When installing MediaHawk software, a System ID Code will be automatically displayed. You can also display a server's System ID Code by issuing the command /usr/bin/nslm_admin --code

The Service Tag number can be obtained from the back of the server chassis. A Service Tag is from 5 to 8 characters, alphanumeric, all caps.

Location Code Help

A customer Location Code must be supplied. If you get an error message indicating your Location Code does not exist, you must contact On-Demand Order Administration to have the Location Code entered.

Relicensing a System

When a video server undergoes hardware maintenance or a software upgrade, the server's license key could no longer be valid, and a new key may need to be obtained. To request a new key for an already licensed server, click here.
